While I wouldn’t say German homes are that different to those in other parts of the world, there is always something new to learn. Like I was surprised to learn that many rentals don’t come with a kitchen! That seems very strange to me. In fact, many aspects of renting are different to what I’m used to.
In this article, we’re talking about everything German homes so you’ll know what to expect if you are moving there or can gain some cultural insights. I promise that it’s interesting whether you plan to move or not.

Something I love, love, love about Germany is how two duvets is normal on a double bed. I love having my own and plan to start doing this in our home in Australia too! I agree the square pillows are strange though.
I may not fit into Germany as I have no idea how many squared meters my home is, and I would really not like having to buy a whole kitchen for a rental or having to paint when I moved out.
